Monastic Principles, Modern Context.
The curriculum at Saint Aidan's House forms minds and hearts according to the wisdom of the undivided Church of the first millennium.
We approach Spiritual Formation and Theological Formation based on the monastic principles of worship, prayer, humility and charity expressed through a communal spirituality. These are principles that connect our ability to understand deep theological truths to our practice of outward spiritual disciplines that result in inward growth.
SPIRITUAL FORMATION
All courses, degrees and special studies that Saint Aidan’s House offers are centered on Anglican Spiritual Formation. We emphasize the Divine Offices when the residential communities are in session as well as guided Spiritual Direction and Formation exercises that address, in an atmosphere of mutual accountability, the various challenges of a life of ministry: personal and professional, academic and practical, devotional and ecclesial.
THEOLOGICAL FORMATION
All Seminary Students begin with the Anglican Studies Certificate Program, which is designed to equip students for ministry in the Anglican Communion. However, these courses are open to anyone who wish to enrich their knowledge and practice of the orthodox Anglican faith, whether you are prospective clergy, ordained clergy or a lay person.
By grounding every student in the fundamental disciplines of Holy Scripture, Orthodox Theology, Church History, Transformational Spirituality and Pastoral Ministry, as understood by the historic church and practiced in the Anglican Fellowship, Saint Aidan’s House prepares students to live and communicate the powerful Gospel of Jesus Christ to the needs of the world today.
We plan to offer Advance Degrees in conjunction with other accredited Seminaries.
Lay-Institute programs are also available for churches and other Christian groups that wish to experience Anglican studies and formation in a short term retreat setting.
